Deseray’s early career in operations sparked her interest in technology when she helped design and implement recruiting and sales software nearly 20 years ago. In 2013, she shifted her focus to healthcare technology at Accenture, working with the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership. As the Program Manager for Long-Term Services and Supports, she managed relationships between agency stakeholders at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and Accenture’s operational and technical teams, ensuring projects were delivered on time and with precision.
In 2017, Deseray was recruited by the Texas Health Care Association, a provider trade association, to support Medicaid reimbursement and regulatory compliance efforts for long-term care providers.
During her time with THCA, she worked closely with providers, agencies, and policymakers to address practical issues and develop solutions to everyday challenges facing the industry. This meaningful work ultimately led her to pursue a career in health law and policy.
Before beginning law school, Deseray served as a Senior Policy Analyst for former Rep.
Julie Johnson, where she analyzed legislation, coordinated committee priorities, and advised on key healthcare policy issues, including Medicaid funding and public health initiatives.
Beyond her operational and legislative expertise, Deseray has played key roles in streamlining team efficiency and ensuring measurable client outcomes during legislative sessions. Her proactive approach enhances the team’s effectiveness in delivering results.
While contributing to the team’s success, Deseray is also pursuing her JD at St. Mary’s University School of Law. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenagers—often sharpening her legal reasoning skills during friendly family debates.
