Jonathan focused on healthcare policy and budget throughout his many staffer roles within the Legislature. As a Policy and Budget Advisor to the Speaker in the 83rd Legislative Session, he regularly advised the Speaker and House members on policy and budget issues related to Health and Human Services, behavioral health, Medicaid, and commercial insurance. In 2014, he was hired as a Policy Analyst in the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services to manage a broad range of issues including public health, mental health, and healthcare professional and facility regulation. During the 84th Legislative Session, he led the committee chair’s efforts in creating and securing funding for a Mental Health
Professional Loan Repayment Program. During
the 85th Legislative Session, he served as Deputy Committee Director and led major legislative and budgetary reforms for the committee chair, including legislation that modernized the way healthcare is provided via telemedicine and a complete restructuring of the state’s mental health hospital system. Before joining Delisi Communications, Jonathan served as the Director of the Senate Committee on Health and Human services where we managed multiple staff and published the Committee’s interim report to the 86th Legislature.
Jonathan is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in Political Science.
